The Search for Reality

I try to deal with the absurdity of contemporary life through painting. The medium of painting is loaded with history, I take concepts and styles from them any art movements that have occurred through history and repurpose them in my own paintings to try to realize something about our time. I feel the absurdity of life is so abundant that it can be hard to figure out what you should take seriously. What is a joke and what is sacred?

The paintings show vignettes from what I see as the hyperreality of contemporary life. The installation suggests the paintings sharing the same horizon, with the paintings engaging in dialog within works and between them.
